Versace Eros Flame (review): Worth Buying?
Versace Eros Flame is a 2018 cologne launched by popular designer house Versace. Flame is the lesser known flanker of the original Eros – yet smells just as good. I’ve owned a bottle for ages and think you should consider buying it too. Hang around for the next few minutes and let me explain why.
Versace Eros Flame smells citrusy, spicy, and sweet
The main notes in Versace Eros Flame are orange, pepper, rosemary, vanilla, tonka, cedar and sandalwood.
When first sprayed, I prominently smell orange and pepper, accompanied by an undercurrent of vanilla. The orange is invigorating, the pepper is spicy, and the vanilla subtly sweet.
The spicy pepper and orange opening is an enjoyable twist on the original Versace Eros. To explain, the original is more minty fresh with a sweet tonka counterpart.
Furthermore, Eros Flame retains that sweet freshness, yet introduces spices that perpetuate a sense of warmth.
Once the dry down commences, the spices recede, making way for herbal and woody notes:
- Rosemary comes first. It’s a unique addition that adds a slight aromatic, herbaceous touch to the composition; and
- Woods emerge soon after. Here, a pairing of cedar and sandalwood provide supportive depth and masculine character to the aroma.
Eros Flame is well-balanced since no specific ingredient dominates. It opens fresh and spicy, before drying down with mature, sweet character. Every accord gets a chance to shine at different stages.
Check out what this reviewer had to say:
I love this EDP! It’s sweet, woody, orange-tangy, and spicy—It’s the mature brother of Eros. It’s definitely louder than regular Eros. I get compliments on it because you can smell it far from away lol. I like to wear it at night.

It features solid performance
Much like its predecessor, Eros Flame has respectable performance.
In detail, the scent projects out moderately for 3 hours. Then, it simmers down and sits closer to skin for another 5. Therefore, Eros Flame provides around 8 hours of total longevity.
Not bad at all for an affordable designer fragrance.
More versatile than the OG
Eros Flame gets a tick for versatility. It’s an improvement over the original Eros because it isn’t as obnoxiously sweet. It’s more rounded with supporting spices and woods.
Therefore, feel confident wearing this in any casual situation – day or night. Also, go ahead and spray away when you’re heading on a date. Your companion will love it.
Favourably, men of any age can wear this too. That’s because it cleverly balances fruity, playful elements with mature woody accords. Eros Flame transcends age groups by assuming the character of its wearer.
In conclusion – Versace Eros Flame
Update: Versace Eros Flame is a solid pickup for men. It’s as relevant now as it was when first released.
It blends a range of notes skilfully – fruity citrus sweetness, mixed with spicy pepper, rosemary, and rounded out by mature woods. Too good.
Flame features robust performance and versatility at an affordable price. It’s a flexible bang for buck scent, comparable to other Versace colognes.
