Metallic Musk brings a fresher take to the 10+ year-old Spicebomb legacy. Crafted by master perfumer Jean-Christophe Herault, this iteration trades the hairy-chested muscularity of past releases for a more polished, brisk feel.

The bottle also reflects this shift – still the iconic grenade shape and style, but with a mirrored metallic finish that glints like polished steel. It’s god damn beautiful isn’t it?

The marketing describes it as a weapon of modern seduction, a contrasting scent that’s both a “luminous force” and “pure sensuality”. I’ll be the judge of that.

What does Metallic Musk smell like?

Metallic Musk contains notes of black pepper, bergamot, aldehydes, cinnamon, lavender, musk, and leather.

The opening of Spicebomb Metallic Musk immediately feels familiar, with that signature burst of black pepper and bergamot creating a smooth, spicy-fresh kick.

But this time there’s a twist – aldehydes take the spotlight early, adding a metallic shimmer. They make the intro feel fizzy and intensely airy. It’s like someone cracked open the original Spicebomb and let a draft of air in.

Rating the performance and versatility

From a performance standpoint, Spicebomb Metallic Musk won’t blow the doors off. However, it does get the job done.

You’ll get a solid four hours of noticeable projection before it eases into skin scent territory, hanging around for another four. Therefore, you’re looking at 8 hours of total longevity – dependable and steady rather than brash and bombastic.

Versatility is where Metallic Musk really flexes. In my view it’s the most flexible Spicebomb yet.

It slides effortlessly from office wear to coffee catch-ups, gym sessions, and even daytime dates. That’s a pretty wide scope for a cologne. In fact, it even trumps prior elite releases like Infrared EDP.

A fresh, clean, musky & spicy fragrance, very blind buy safe. I get sort of a cream soda vibe, might just be my nose (could be the musk and cinnamon notes), has that fresh spicy DNA from the original, if you own the og I don’t see a point in buying this but if it’s your first spicebomb I’d say get this instead

Pepper opening that is pretty strong but well balanced. Settles into a clean musk smell with the drydown ending up in a masculine leather. Very well blended! Its like the OG but with more depth and is a bit more modern imo.

Metallic Musk doesn’t try to outmuscle its predecessors – it plays a smarter game.

Although it’s not my all-time favourite (Spicebomb Extreme still holds that title), it’s high, high, up there. If you’re a fan of the line, this new drop is a must try.
