Penhaligon’s Halfeti Leather: Review by a Fragrance Addict

Halfeti Leather is Penhaligon’s classy release of 2020. I was instantly drawn to this fragrance after I sampled it for the first time. It bound to my skin for hours, and just got better and better over time. I am fortunate to own a bottle of this luxurious perfume and couldn’t recommend it any more highly than I do! Here’s why.

Cologne Notes

Halfeti Leather opens with top notes of Cardamom, Plum, Green Notes, Lavender, Bergamot and Citruses. The mid is comprised of Cumin, Rose, Nutmeg, Violet, Cinnamon and Jasmine; while the base notes are Leather, Incense, Agarwood (Oud), Cedar and Patchouli.

How Does Halfeti Leather Smell?

Halfeti Leather is the flanker to the original Halfeti release by Penhaligon’s. It opens with a fresh sweetness and dried fruit accord. This is what drew to me to the fragrance in the first place – I really enjoy sweet accords in my fragrances.

As the scent dries down, the oud, incense and leather really start coming through and carry the fragrance on the skin for hours.

Occasions and Versatility

To me, this is quite an elegant, bold and masculine fragrance. I would certainly pair this with a leather jacket for a night out, or for a formal occasion. I’d also consider wearing this on an exotic holiday somewhere such as the Greek islands!

I wouldn’t necessarily choose this as a date night scent or work scent, as it may come across as a little animalic or offensive to others. This fragrance can be polarising so it is important to consider the context with which you choose to wear it.

Longevity and Projection

I was honestly blown away by the incredible performance of this fragrance. Halfeti Leather latches onto my skin and matures over the hours it is worn. As mentioned earlier, to me the opening is all about the dried fruit accord and freshness. The longer this scent lasts on skin, the incense, oud and leather all blend into a warm and magnificent scent.

This is no doubt a beast mode fragrance and one of my best performing. I get an easy 10+ hours of wear from this with only 3-5 sprays.

Updated: Halfeti Leather by Penhaligon’s is an incredible leather fragrance and one that I highly recommend. The blend of sweetness, woody accords and leather make it a unique scent in my collection. Halfeti Leather is an EDP concentration and available in a 100ml bottle.
