This aroma is a cooling blend of sea notes, mineral notes, mandarin, musk, amber, and patchouli. Additionally, there’s some satisfying herbaceous elements too.

The amber, musk and patchouli invoke an inviting aura, which isn’t what you expect from your typical aquatics.

Although versatile, Profondo will be at its most effective when the weather warms up – during day or night.

Furthermore, this cologne is for classy dudes who take pride in their style. It works best with a crisp white shirt and chinos.

4. Acqua di Gio

The esteemed Acqua di Gio secures the next spot in the rankings.

It’s a citrus aquatic fragrance that contains sea notes, lime, lemon, orange, peach and neroli. Quite the fresh, invigorating mix.

However, it also emanates a complex, masculine edge – thanks to cedarwood, musk and jasmine.

This aroma works best when the weather warms up. During those days, wear this with confidence in just about any circumstance. Although I especially enjoy it for casual events and the gym.

Despite performance not being what it used to – it’s still decent. I get 6 hours of longevity on skin, with projection for the first 2. I’m fine with that, as Acqua di Gio is relatively cheap these days. Therefore, it’s economical to reapply as needed.

3. Stronger With You Intensely

Stronger With You Intensely comes in at #3 on on my rankings. Described as an oriental woody fragrance, it’s quite unlike anything else on this list.

Stronger With You Intensely opens with a seductive scent of toffee, vanilla and tonka. This sweet composition lingers for some time before the masculine aura reveals itself.

Specifically, notes of cinnamon, suede, amber and juniper add that virile, smooth edge to the aforementioned sweet mixture.

This one works effectively in cool weather, during both day and night. Its intimate projection also makes this an ideal date night fragrance.

2. Armani Code Profumo

Armani Code Profumo takes the penultimate spot on my list of top Armani Colognes.

Code Profumo is a spicy, oriental, and aromatic scent. It contains notes of tonka bean, leather, amber, nutmeg, lavender, mandarin, and orange blossom. A deeply seductive blend right there.

The sweet notes are deftly balanced with the mysterious vibe of amber and leather. All capped off with juicy mandarin and orange blossom. This is absolutely a bad boy scent thanks to that supple leather note. It’s masculine and daring yet never obnoxious.

This one is suitable for after dark or cooler climates – specifically on dates or casual events.

Code Profumo is the best performing cologne on the list. For the price, it’s beastly. I get 3 hours of projection from skin, then sits closer for 7 hours more. Not bad at all.

1. Acqua Di Gio Profumo

Finally, the cologne that snagged first place – Acqua Di Gio Profumo.

A flanker of the original Acqua di Gio, Profumo is an aquatic, aromatic composition. It features sea notes, incense, citruses, rosemary, sage and geranium.

Profumo takes the finest elements of the original and ascends to new heights. This has the refreshing energy of the original, sure. Though it’s the masterstroke inclusion of incense and patchouli that help upstage the OG.

The incense in particular provides Profumo with enigmatic character that is rare amongst aquatics. Consequently, this is far from just a daytime summer scent. This smells just as good in the evening, for casual wear or date night.

Performance is also a step above the original Acqua di Gio. It projects out moderately from skin for a few hours and has total longevity of at least 8.

Acqua di Gio Profumo is a bottle I will always have in my collection due to its dark and cooling qualities.
