Classic ADG dna in my opinion, but it has a twist with the leather accord. It smells really nice and pleasant, the concentration is amped up and it feels different even though it has the original DNA embedded in it.
This is like ADG mixed with Dior Fahrenheit. I was never the biggest fan of this line, but I love Fahrenheit and this mix is actually super good. Still not worthy of the ”elixir” branding but that’s just a marketing scheme anyways.
I was shocked by how versatile it is.
The Acqua di Gio line has long been synonymous with fresh, summery colognes – cooling tonics for the hottest days. Traditionally, elixir concentrations are better suited to winter, with richer and more intense profiles.
Acqua di Gio Elixir bridges both worlds.
It maintains an uplifting essence, which is great for summer and outdoor activities. At the same time, its brooding undertones provide versatility. It fits easily into cooler months or evening occasions like dates and nighttime gatherings.
In this way, it also echoes Acqua di Gio Profumo – hitting both the summer and winter market.
The performance could be way better.
Elixirs are known for long-lasting performance and powerful projection, but Acqua di Gio Elixir falls short of that notion.
On my skin, it offers moderate projection for about three hours. Then, it settles closer for an additional four, giving it around seven hours of total longevity. While that’s not terrible, it’s underwhelming considering the expectations.
If strong projection and lasting power are your top priorities, the two Acqua di Gio releases mentioned earlier are better options.

While the scent itself is versatile and pleasant, I have mixed feelings. The performance is underwhelming, falling short of what I expect from an elixir. It’s good – but it could have been great.
Overall, I do think it’s worth trying. Just don’t be in a rush to do so.
